Pathway opens up for World Cup
Saturday 24th July 2010, 3:00PM BST.
MAJOR changes in the ICC cricket structure will open a new pathway for Jersey’s cricketers to contend for a place at the 2012 Twenty20 World Cup.
Jersey will continue to compete in the World Cricket League structure but the European Divisions, which Jersey won this week as Division I hosts, have now been disbanded.
But the 50-over game will not disappear completely as ICC Europe will look to run other such events so that Jersey’s cricketers, and other European nations, will have vital match preparation ahead of future WCL competition.
