Island dairy farmers ‘are being made scapegoats’

THE dairy industry is being unfairly singled out for funding cuts in a five-year plan for the countryside, according to the chairman of Jersey Dairy.
Andrew Le Gallais warned that the draft rural economy strategy was very tough on Island farmers because it proposed scrapping their subsidies at a time when they were already struggling.
