Where there’s a Will…
Monday 26th July 2010, 3:00PM BST.
IF you weren’t one of the several thousand people in Howard Davis Park on Friday night, you missed out on one of the best nights of entertainment Jersey has seen for some time.
For one warm summer’s evening the park played host to a truly massive music event, with sensational performances from stars Will Young and Beverley Knight. The event, supported by Airtel-Vodafone, also raised funds for Help a Jersey Child.
Kicking off early in the evening, the Channel 103 Big Gig in the Park began with 70s troop Disco Sensation warming up the crowd, before local girl group Honeybun stormed on stage to deliver a flawless set.

The whold evening was brill, the 70′s show, the Hunnibuns and Beverly Night too!!! but for me Will won the night and stole my heart

Beverley was great as were Honeybun.
Sadly it’s a pity Mr Young and his management team do not realise who put him where he is. His performance was lack lustre and at times boring. The organisers should have saved the reputed £50k it cost to bring him over and paid Beverley more to bring her band and do a full set.

Dear jersey evening post
I had a great time, it was good to hear Beverley night,(come as you are), Will young,(ever green), honeybun, all of their songs. Me, pia, alice, becca and mollie all got our photo taken.
Evening was amazing and the V.I.P tent was really good, and the food wasn’t so bad. Me and my friends had an A-M-A-Zing time, except the next day our voices were a bit croaky. I also think that if will young didn’t hurt his back he could surfed the crowd. I can’t believe they paid £50k for Will Young.

Amazing evening. Honey B were fabulous, they really did themselves proud.
Beverly Knight was pretty good too, and played the media, camera and audience like the seasoned professional artist she is.
The man the majority ofthe audience had paid to see and the true star of the evening was Will, he beamed, he pogoed, he bounced round the stage. After opening with the wonderful “Switch it On”,(not Free as reported by your reporter,) and belting out hit after hit, only pausing for the odd humourous chat with the audience. Will came saw and conquered. Awesome. Come back soon Mr Young

Wonderful entertainment! A great deal of hard work must have gone into making this the great day it was. The performers were fantastic, and Will Young, as always, was brilliant! By far, the UK’s best male singer. I hope this venue will be returning next year.
