Mother jailed for neglect

A MOTHER has been jailed for neglecting her two daughters just weeks after being given a chance to prove herself by the court.
The 35-year-old woman from St Helier yesterday pleaded guilty to two new charges of recklessly exposing a ten-year-old child and a five-year-old child to risk of harm at her home between 20 May and 22 May and was also resentenced for a previous child neglect charge.
Assistant Magistrate Bridget Shaw sentenced the woman to six months in prison and said that she had wasted an opportunity to prove herself.
