BIRD WATCH 2012

The 11th Great Garden Bird Watch took place over the weekend, Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 February. JEP readers were asked to get on board to help monitor bird life in the Island.
In the context of Alderney there are two principle types of marina to consider. (i) The ‘boat park’, or classic marina, a rather static and lifeless design where most of the boat owners live abroad. (ii) The yachting centre marina, which focuses on attracting visiting yachts and events, whose crews can enjoy this unique island environment. For sure the States should consult marina and yachting experts who have international, not just regional, experience.
