The Summer Triathlon gets under way at La Pulente Pictures: JON GUEGAN (01015061)

JERSEY triathlete Daniel Halksworth’s preparations for next month’s London Triathlon continue to go well as he won the La Pulente Summer Triathlon on Sunday.

The 24-year-old completed the swim, bike and run in 1 hr 4 min 6 sec, half a minute ahead of Tom Perchard. Doug Gorman was third.

In the ladies’ race Claire Forbes had a strong lead coming out of the water in 20.07 min. Katie Thompson and Truusje Gamlin slightly closed the gap on the bike ride, but Forbes put in a good run to win by more than six minutes and place seventh overall.
