UK firm reports rise in bookings

HOLIDAY bookings to the Channel Islands went up by 60 per cent last week compared to the same period last year, according to a UK tour operator.
Premier Holidays has recorded a ‘noticeable increase’ in bookings to the islands over the past three weeks.
While trips to Jersey are up 14 per cent, Guernsey has attracted the most visitors over the last month, with bookings up 30 per cent.

A 60% rise in bookings in a week is good news, but meaningless statistic if Premier Holiday is the bit part player I suspect it is.

As written by Nuevo vista above, a meaningless statistic without numbers.
In illustration, if the original baseline number is 40, it just requires a further 24 bookings for there to be a 60% increase. In that perspective, it is not such dramatic news.

60 % increase thats fantatstic…. Well done to all those promoting the island.
Last year, 5 people could have come through Premier Holidays; 60% increase, extra 3 people.
Thats the problem with percentages, you need to know the real numbers.
