A BATTLE of Flowers team will tonight be hoping to become the first people ever to complete a showboat-themed float before getting to the parade arena.
The Optimists’ Club are the fourth team in Battle history to attempt a showboat.
However, because of the massive surface area that needs flowering on such exhibits none of the previous attempts has been completed in time.
At over 16 feet high and 45 feet long, Showboat is one of the biggest floats that the Optimists’ Club have ever attempted.
