JERSEY Wanderers became the first team to beat St Paul’s in 41 matches last night.

Last season’s Championship champions defeated the current Channel
Islands champions 2-0 at the Hockey Club to reach the semi-finals of the Charity Cup.

Wanderers, who were deserved winners, scored goals either side of half time through Ben Gallichan and Jamie Savory but late on the marksmen both blotted their copybooks by being sent off for a reckless challenge and violent conduct, respectively.

A good game spoiled by bad behaviour from the players. Its safe to say both of them are absolute numptys. One of them kicked a Crystal Palace fan in the chest and the other headbutted the ref then fell over claiming a foul.

He got a free kick as well, it was absolutely ridiculous.

ST Ouens will beat them both this season.

As long as I stay fit we should finish top of the league. I have no doubt about that.

They are going to need me to dig deep this season but I am well up for the challenge.
