Drug smuggler jailed for five years

A ‘NAIVE and foolish’ man who tried to smuggle £163,000 worth of heroin into Jersey by hiding it in his shoes and socks has been jailed for five years.
Glen Martin was stopped by Customs officers minutes after arriving on a flight from Gatwick on 2 April, the Royal Court heard this week.
The 22-year-old told officers that he was taking a holiday, but officials became suspicious after discovering that he had arrived with just a small drawstring bag containing no toiletries and hardly any clothes.
