‘Leave our pockets alone,’ say senior citizens

SENIOR citizens have been reassured that they would still be eligible for Christmas bonuses.
Treasury Minister Philip Ozouf heard some of their views at a meeting with members of the Senior Citizens Association at the Town Hall, where he explained the need for the States to raise enough funds to fill the £100 million deficit.
Senator Ozouf said that there had been some scaremongering about the Christmas bonus proposals – and those over 65, who receive a pension from Social Security and live in Jersey would still receive it.
