OVs lift CI title

SKIPPER Peter Gough led from the front to help Rathbone Old Victorian’s to their second NatWest Channel Islands League championship title in four years.
Gough, Jersey’s team captain, scored an beaten 79 in his side’s four-wicket victory against Guernsey’s Odey ORs, the latter who had led the division for the majority of the season.
OVs bowled ORs out for 170 in 47.5 overs before replying with 172 for six to win with 5.5 overs to spare.
Gough, whose team also won the NatWest Weekend League Premier Division title, said: ‘It was a brilliant result on Saturday; it was tough going throughout and we managed to keep things together well at key times.’
