Sorry, have I missed something? Would someone please explain… I thought the introduction of 3% GST was to cover the £100m deficit. Or is that being spent elsewhere now?

The people in this Government are too weak to make the necessary cuts. We have already seen stated cuts being removed because some people moaned.
For any cuts there will be a section that moans. Just get on with it.

If we tried to implement the level of cuts that the Chamber of Commerce want then we will soon be looking at seriously paid for commercial bin emptying, hikes in employer’s social security and more besides.
Currently we subsidise quite a few island businesses.
It is fine by me if they want to pay full price!
Will the Chamber of Commerce feel the same way?

I agree with Grateful Fool.
We have a weak and gutless States. No one is willing to stand up and make decisions that mean something. SOmetimes you need to say NO….
Another example is the way they almost rolled over on 0/10 something that would have all but destroyed the finance industry and then a £100M hole would have been the least of our worries.
