DANDARA are facing fresh criticism after submitting new plans to build 87 homes on the former Jersey Dairy site in St Saviour.

Their latest proposal increases the number of units on the former Jersey Dairy site in Prince’s Tower Road from 65 to 87 and follows the Environment Minister’s decision to stop them building eight homes on a green field next door.

Neighbouring land owner Andrew Le Quesne and St Saviour Deputy Roy Le Hérissier say that the plans would see a green community area swallowed up by more houses and cause more traffic and compromise the earlier high design standards.

The scheme, which is designed by architect Robert Adam, is due to be decided upon by Senator Cohen on Wednesday 8 September at 12 pm at Société Jersiaise, Pier Road.

No prizes for how Senator ‘Danadara’ Cohen will vote on this one.

The builders friend F Cohen, they must love him to bits. This man who ruined Jersey, he will go down in history as a despoiler of our once beautiful Island what a way to be remembered

This is a third more houses than the earlier ‘high quality development’ so highly praised by Senator Cohen.
What credibility will he have if he approves this?

So the number of “houses” has increased from 65 to 87 because they were refused permission to build 8 on the site next door.In my day 65 plus 8 totalled 73 so where did 87 come from? I note once again that this development consists of 3 storey buildings which are totally impractical for families/older people and appear to have little garden/outdoor space so again not desirable for families.Shall we place bets on what Cohen’s decision will be on September 8th- or perhaps he has already made his decision?!!

Who is going to be able to buy these? Mortgages are in short supply for first time buyers, particularly those whose job opportunities look shakey.

There was a new development of houses at Sion advertised in the JEp last night with large price reductions.

Could this be more buy to let, so overseas investors have their mortgages paid by us taxpayers via the rent rebate scheme?

Why don’t Dandara go the whole hog and submit plans to concerte the island. Then they can move on to spoil somewhere else.

Oh, but wait, they’re going to build 2 new bus shelters. Whoopidi Doo.

87 properties = 160+ cars to add to the already gridlocked 5 Oaks Roundabout from all directions. Perhaps Dandara would like to sponsor a minibus service to the schools & town every morning and evening so residents don’t have to drive – there’s a unique selling point.

@3 – what credibility does he have now!? Laughable. Half a million for a FIRST TIME BUYER, yeah no problem maybe i’ll take two.
