Jersey sailors triumph

Saturday 4th September 2010, 2:59PM BST.

OVER 60 boats took part in the annual Fairbairn Trophée Des Isles regatta won by the St Catherine’s Sailing Club team.

Racing was in five fleets in St Catherine’s Bay against members from the the Guernsey Yacht Club and Societe Nautique de la Baie de Saint-Malo.

The event was a magnificent success thanks to brilliant organisation, teamwork and great sailing and the perfect weather – sunshine with a stiff offshore breeze – allowed spectators to sit in the club’s sunny shelter and watch the competitors racing around the bay.
