Haut de la Garenne worker faces extra assault charge

A WOMAN charged with multiple assaults against children in her care at Haut de la Garenne faced an additional charge when she appeared in the Royal Court yesterday.

Morag Jordan (née Kidd) is charged with assaulting a boy between 22 May 1981 and 27 July 1984 at the home by kicking him in the groin. She denies the charge.

Mrs Jordan and her husband, Anthony Jordan, both aged 62, deny a total of 50 counts of assault against 11 children at the former care home between 1970 and 1984.

The couple, who live in Scotland, were charged with the offences in February as part of the historical abuse inquiry.
