BUSINESS leaders from all sectors of the economy are debating whether they would invest in ‘Jersey plc’ at the Institute of Directors annual debate today.

States Members have been invited to the event at the Hotel de France, and Chief Minister Terry Le Sueur is going to attend.

The highlight of the event is the debate – moderated by ITV journalist and newscaster Alastair Stewart – which features representatives of the finance, tourism, IT, construction and retail industries discussing the question ‘Jersey plc, would you invest?’.

    What a dumb question?
    A smart businessman worthy of being called a ‘director’ will have invested, regardless of what the others in the pack are doing. I suspect that this meeting is just a bunch of ‘want-to-be’ grandstanding.
