FESTIVAL-GOERS poured into Jersey’s Opera House in their hundreds last night for the spectacular launch of the Branchage International Film Festival.

An aerial artist opened the evening with a breathtaking performance on a rope before festival chairman Jeremy Swetenham thanked the volunteers and organisers for making the event happen.

British comedy Tamara Drewe, starring Gemma Arterton, was the first-night offering from festival organiser Xanthe Hamilton and her team.
