Assault victim’s head smashed into pavement

A TEENAGER who smashed a man’s head into a doorstep in an unprovoked attack while he was under the influence of alcohol was jailed by the Royal Court yesterday

The court heard that Paul David William Le Geyt (19)  headbutted his victim after asking him for a cigarette as he walked through the Royal Square after a night out. Hhe then followed the man to Colomberie and was seen smashing his head on the pavement outside Jersey Pottery café as he lay face down on the ground.

Le Geyt was sentended two years in a young offenders’ institution after admitting the grave and criminal assault on 5 June. The Bailiff, Michael Birt, who was sitting with Jurats Tibbo and Bullen, said: ‘You have an appalling record and it is clear to us that when you consume too much alcohol you cannot control your aggressive tendencies.
