‘Pleasant surprise’ awaits Jersey team
Saturday 25th September 2010, 2:59PM BST.
DESPITE there being an air of ‘frustration’ in Delhi, Jersey’s Commonwealth Games team manager Paul Huddlestone believes people will be ‘pleasantly surprised’ when they arrive.
Having been in the host city since Monday, Huddlestone’s main focus has been preparing the accommodation for the team’s arrival on Wednesday. He says that Jersey’s accommodation block is very reasonable.
‘The general feeling is frustration because getting things done out here is pretty difficult,’ he said. ‘There are a lot of people on the ground but actually finding the right person who can do something hasn’t been easy.
‘We definitely would not have been ready had the first flight of Jersey team members arrived yesterday. However, in the last 24 hours there has been a huge makeover and it’s starting to look something like it should.’
