Fun and Games in Delhi

THE Commonwealth Games in Delhi look set to start with an impressive Bollywood-inspired opening ceremony on Sunday.

Jersey team manager Paul Huddlestone got a sneak preview of the show when he went to see the main JN Sports stadium where rehearsals were taking place yesterday.

He said: ‘We managed to watch part of it and it looks like being a true Bollywood spectacular.’

While there Huddelstone also went to assess the lawn bowls venue, in a different part of the complex, which he reported is complete and ‘looks great’. However, after the monsoon rain of recent times, the rinks will provide a different challenge.

‘It is all ready but the competition manager explained that although the rinks were built on sand and he thought they would be dry, they are in fact wet so they won’t be as fast as originally thought.’
