JERSEY’S Catholic congregation gathered together at the weekend to celebrate the jubilee of St Mary’s and St Peter’s Catholic Church on Wellington Road.

It has been 25 years since the church opened and Monsignor Nicholas France, the Rev Iain MacFirbhisigh and Canon David Mahy were all at the jubilee event on Sunday at the church.
It was a special visit for Canon Mahy as he was the parish priest when the church was originally built.

He returned 25 years later and the occasion was even more special as it was also the 50th anniversary of his ordination into priesthood. Mr MacFirbhisigh said that the Canon contributed to Sunday’s mass.
