‘Work together to achieve sustainability’
Saturday 23rd October 2010, 2:59PM BST.
ISLAND firms were told they need to work together to achieve sustainable business at a seminar organised by Durrell this week.
About 100 people, representing all sectors, attended the third annual Durrell business seminar held at the Pomme d’Or Hotel.
The need for collaboration among businesses was the main theme of keynote speaker, Matthew Thomson, the chief executive of the London Community Resource Network.
He told the audience at the event, which was sponsored by RBC Wealth Management, that Jersey was well placed to use its strong networks and leadership to move further down the road of sustainability.
But he said the Island had ‘much to improve upon’ as Jersey had the highest per capita car ownership rate in Europe. And he said there was also a lack of transparent States data on waste usage and costs.
