ANY cuts to the funding of fee-paying schools should be phased in gradually, the Education and Home Affairs Scrutiny Panel has said.

The panel has sent a letter to the Education Minister asking that any reductions in subsidies, if approved, are brought in over time to make it fair for parents who currently have children at the schools affected.

It has also asked for a copy of the draft proposals because, it said, it ‘may wish to review this issue’.
