WHAT a difference a week makes! Stung by two well below-par performances and the loss of a 13-month unbeaten record, Jersey Rugby Club blasted back with a pulsating performance that knocked title favourites Ealing off top spot in National II South on Saturday.

Coach Ben Harvey’s call for more passion after being knocked off top spot at Richmond – from team and crowd – was answered in convincing fashion, with Jersey eventually emerging with a bonus point for a pulsating 32-18 victory over their classy opponents – undoubtedly one of the best teams to visit St Peter in many a year.

Despite facing a howling wind in the second half, which rendered a kicking game virtually useless, Jersey’s pack claimed three tries to secure a famous victory and the bonus point when added to the first-half debut try from full-back David Doherty, the former Sale Sharks, Wasps and Leeds three-quarter.
