Flashback to happier times as Optimus celebrate another win

ONE of the Island’s most successful cricket clubs in recent years has disbanded following an emergency general meeting.

The 2009 Channel Islands champions Optimus, who finished runner-up in this year’s Natwest Weekend Premier Division, have withdrawn from competition after failing to fill the 15-man squad quota.

The decision was made by a majoriy vote after club officials decided against a merger and chose not to fill the squad by committing junior players in the senior side.
