Jersey take hard road
Monday 22nd November 2010, 2:58PM GMT.

Jersey prop Ross Kenwright gets ready for impact during a hard-fought encounter with Westcombe Park DAVID FERGUSON (01098620)
FOUR tries and a bonus point. That was the least that was expected by an 750-strong crowd at St Peter on Saturday when the JRFC’s 1st XV took on third from bottom Westcombe Park in National League 2 South, before eventually beating them 30-6.
That Jersey was able to fullfil that obligation, courtesy of a 73rd minute try from winger, Ed Dawson, tells very little about a game which Jersey could so easily have lost if the visitors had maintained their first half momentum, which saw them go into the break 3-6 in the lead.
As their coach, Jamie White explained: ‘We worked hard in the first half and were probably the better side, although the effort we made took its toll and a 15-minute period early in the second half cost us the match.’
