No news yet on zero-ten tax

MINISTERS are still waiting for formal confirmation of the findings of a European Union tax group in Brussels who met on Friday to decide whether the zero-ten tax regime is ‘harmful’.
Treasury Minister Philip Ozouf said this morning that the initial indications were positive, with concerns raised about a minor issue rather than the zero-ten corporate tax rate.
The code of conduct group, which is made up of tax officials from EU members states, met to look at the zero-ten tax policies of both Jersey and the Isle of Man.
The Crown Dependencies are represented by the UK at the group meeting and Senator Ozouf said that it would be through the Treasury department in Westminster that news would filter through.
