REGULAR music concerts have raised enough money in six months to pay for a new grand piano at Georgetown Methodist Church.

The Yamaha Concert grand piano cost £11,850 and was installed at Easter.

In order to pay for it, regular ‘Thursday night is music night’ concerts were organised and enough money has now been raised to cover the cost of the instrument.

Rowland Heaven, who organised the concerts, said that there were many people to thank for the new piano. ‘It will enhance the music of our concerts for many years to come,’ he said. ‘Everyone who has so far played it, whether solo or accompanying, has assured us of its fine quality of tone and touch.’
