Health warning over ‘miracle’ supplement
Tuesday 30th November 2010, 2:57PM GMT.
HEALTH officials this morning issued an urgent warning about a food supplement which turns into a dangerous industrial-strength bleach when used as directed.

Acting Medical Officer of Health Dr Susan Turnbull said instructions that came with the product directed users to mix it with lemon juice or some other citric acid.
However, the mixing process creates a lethal cocktail of chlorine dioxide, a potent bleach used for stripping textiles and industrial water treatment.
