Bouley Bay hill climb
Friday 24th December 2010, 11:00AM GMT.
NEARLY 20 runners turned out for the annual Jersey Spartan Athletics Club Hill Climb at Bouley Bay on Saturday.
James Cunningham was first to the top, running in 6.29 minutes after he took the lead early on and held on to win, some ten seconds ahead of second placed Damian Maher.
Runners had to navigate around various slippery patches on the course with caution, which prompted slower times than normal.
One person who dealt well with the conditions was super-veteran Sue Le Ruez who overtook Rachel Maher near the final bend to finish as first lady, in 11th overall, with a time of 8.48 min.
The next JSAC event is the 10 km Boxing Day fancy dress fun run at 10 am, including the draw for London Marathon places.
