Double tax treaty signed with Estonia

JERSEY has signed a tax treaty with Estonia.
Treasury Minister Philip Ozouf, in his role as Deputy Chief Minister, went to the Estonian embassy in London last week to sign the double taxation agreement.
Estonia’s foreign affairs minister Urmas Paet signed the treaty on behalf of the Baltic state.
It is the Island’s 20th international tax agreement which meets the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s standards on transparency and information exchange.

Well done big O, Estonia are the 96th most important country in economic terms and this is a landmark achievement. Surely no one can now say that Jersey is bent as ninepence and a very good place to hide your money.
Famous people born in Estonia include Norman Wisdom, Heinrich Himmler and Dott Cotton.
