Robert Weston arriving at the Royal Court for a previous hearing
A COMPANY controlled by Jersey hotelier Robert Weston has been ordered to pay over £63,500 to Leeds United FC and file documents within five weeks to the Royal Court.
And if it does not comply, then the Phone-In Trading Post Ltd, trading as Admatch, risks losing the chance to go to trial to defend a claim that it owes the football club chaired by Ken Bates £190,400.
The long-running dispute between the companies controlled by Mr Weston and Mr Bates centres on claims by Leeds that Admatch, an agent for the club set up to sell season tickets, other tickets and products, owes it £190,400.
But Admatch, through Mr Weston, claims that it is owed £1.43 million by another Leeds United company which went bust in 2006 and that it was permitted to ‘set-off’ the £190,400 against the £1.43 million.
