Dave McCormack and Jersey RFC’s first-team professionals will be on hand to coach at Le Rocquier School playing fields this Sunday morning

THE sport of rugby is targeting the east of the Island for further growth to back up the giant strides made by Jersey RFC in the national league.

Although the Jersey RFC Academy is over 450-strong and recognised as one of the best in the country, rugby development officer David McCormack and many of the Island’s sports teachers are extremely keen to further strengthen the game’s grassroots.

And an area identified for improvement is the availability of top class coaching for youngsters in the eastern parishes.
