It may be a concrete blob, but it has so much potential

From Simon Wells.
REGARDING the Odeon saga, I see Senator Freddie Cohen has decided to keep it as a listed building, and the owners of the property say that it will stay empty as a consequence.

When I look at this building I, like many others, see it as a concrete blob with no character. However, on the inside my view is so much different.

I believe the interior has so much potential to cater for Island life that leaving it empty could be another business opportunity missed. This building could cater for wanna-be actors and also a school for performing arts. It could also be a venue for local bands and bands from outside the Island, maybe even stars.

The inside auditoriums can also be used for conferences and even college lectures and seminars.

Just think of the revenue generated when you add it all up.

However, I appreciate that the owners of this property would not look at these ideas as commercially viable, and they are entitled to that viewpoint, but I feel it is such a shame that a building with so much positive potential should be smack-bang in the middle of an argument.
