States chief executive to leave post early
Saturday 19th February 2011, 2:59PM GMT.
JERSEY’S top civil servant is leaving his post.
States chief executive Bill Ogley has agreed a ‘mutual termination’ of his role with Chief Minister Terry Le Sueur, and will leave the department on 31 May.
In a brief statement issued on Friday, Mr Ogley indicated that he would be leaving Jersey after eight years here and returning to the UK.
Both he and Senator Le Sueur referred to ‘a review of the States’ senior structure’ in their statements announcing the departure.
Mr Ogley came to the Island in 2003 as the chief executive to the old Policy and Resources Committee, but took over the role of States chief executive in the 2005 ministerial reforms.
