Change of direction Games windsurfing

IT is all change for windsurfers heading to this year’s NatWest Island Games as the event is taking on a new format.
A much faster, spectator-friendly, series of slalom races will be the challenge in the Isle of Wight as organisers have opted against continuing with course racing which in the past proved difficult to follow and much slower.
Jersey Windsurfing Association president Justin Horton said: ‘It is going to be much more exciting racing and much faster. You might see people wearing helmets this time as they will be coming in a lot faster for the turns and there will be more pull-ups and more wipe-outs.
