Trust benefactor honoured with floral tribute

A SINGLE new orchid has been named in honour of a benefactor who helped the National Trust for Jersey to purchase and renovate some of the Island’s historic buildings.

Christened Cymbidium National Trust Jersey ‘Miss Amy’, the individual orchid, which is pink with orange tones, has been named after Amy Filleul, who bequeathed the trust £230,000 in 1968.

The naming of the orchid ‘Miss Amy’ by the Eric Young Orchid Foundation as a special tribute to one of the trust’s benefactors has taken place to mark the trust’s 75th anniversary year.
