Fishermen cut off by the tide

THREE low water fishermen were rescued almost a mile out to sea yesterday after being cut off by one of the biggest tides of the year.
The men waded waist-deep through cold water before scrambling onto a reef and calling for help.
They were later plucked to safety by firefighters on board the Fire and Rescue Service’s inshore lifeboat.
