Line up for campaign

Geraldine Hunt putting washing up at the Elms

FIRST they wanted Islanders to draw a line in the sand, now The National Trust for Jersey is calling on you to put one up in your garden.

The trust has today launched a campaign to encourage people to hang out their washing rather than use a tumble dryer.

It is the third phase of a year-long Green House Project initiative to get Jersey to become more environmentally friendly. Each month of 2011, the trust will highlight a way that people can make their homes greener.

The third phase is being sponsored by Marks and Spencer, which has put up prizes for a competition launched in today’s, JEP.

    Save energy,

    Stop turning the clocks.

I finish work, go home and it s dark, and than I use more electricity for the Lights from 6 to 12pm

The sun is well up by the time I get up to go to work at 9am. What a waste

Why cant I enjoy the sun in the evenings so I can save on electricity ?

So we can trade as the same time as the UK… what a lot bollo….

I never use the dryer, now the weather is improving I just check the forecast on the This is Jersey site and if no rain is forecast, hang out the washing.

If rain is forecast I hang out the dirty washing and sprinkle wash powder over it – simples.

Why pay for something that is free ( unless you are talking about Jersey Water who will soon be wringing us all dry with their obligitory meters )
