JERSEY Telecom officially opened its new £5 million data centre at Rue des Près trading estate this week.

And JT Group chief executive Graeme Millar said that the new centre was a ‘big step forward’ both for the company and the economy as a whole.

The centre, which provides 140 server racks, is housed in an anonymous looking building on the right as you turn into the trading estate from the Longueville Road.

The official opening was carried out by Assistant Economic Development Minister Paul Routier in front of an audience of about 70 people.

For a company who like patting themselves on the back at being world leaders, their broadband is crap and they have totally ruined their own website jerseyinsight, it works slower than the broadband now. They need to get a grip and provide the service they keep banging on about before any new ventures

@ 1, I agree, today I spent 27 minutes waiting in a que to find out why my download speed had dropped to 0.42Mbps, and no it wasn’t my equipment, it was JT’s one again! I am sick to death with the unreliability, I would move to another operator, but they are stuck with JT’s infrastructure.

More to the point, why do I have to pay line rental twice for the 2 same pieces of copper wire, once for my land line and then for my broadband , can anyone give an explanation other than extortion by JT

Start investing into your customers Mr Millar, you might think you are doing a good job, your customers can vote with their feet and move to another operator.

Mr Ringsdore, expect to have another complaint letter on your desk early next week for round 27 of JT’s equipment failure!

Why don’t you do what i did over 3 years ago. Swop to Newtel. Ok its still JT’s infrastructure but they lose a few pounds to Newtel and have a responsibility to provide Newtel with a service. I have had 1 or 2 issues since joining but once looked into all the issues have been JT’s fault. Until people vote with their feet (or ADSL) then JT will ignore you, all move and they may just start listening. On another side to this since joining Newtel i have had no issues with speed. (PS not a Newtel Worker just a happy customer)

Once again JT is ready to rip us off
Same broadband anywhere in uk Uk costs half price then what JT is charging.

20MB broadband at 49.99 what a steal it is when others in UK is charging for the same service from just 15.99 and thats including the line rental.

Like PJ siad we are paing twice for the same line

i give you an example: JT 20mb Costs 49.99, Plus 12.40 for line rental total of 62.39 or like JT told me i can have all 3 for 57.95.

One Uk provider as told me if i was with them it would it cost me Just 28.50 a month for the same service.

Come on JT stop stealing us Customers.

JT should provide a proper broadband service before they start spending money on data centers.
Jersey insight is an example of how poor the products of this company are.
Shame on you Graeme Millar. You are a waste of money.
    GO.
