Zane takes top sports award

Track athlete Zane Duquemin was named as 2010 Jersey Sports Council Sports Person of the Year last night.
It followed a sublime 12 months for the 19-year-old Jersey Spartan athlete, including making two senior Commonwealth Games finals.
Although unable to attend the ceremony, the honour was collected by his parents at the Hotel Ambassadeur on a night was billed as a celebration of Jersey sport and truly lived up to its name.
The other finalists for Jersey Sports Person of 2010 were Peter Gough (cricket); Adam Le Cheminant (motor bike trials); Ross Davis (bowls); Ian Black (swimming); David Tumer (shooting); Samantha Godel (gymnastics).
