Miss Battle of Flowers 2011 Alice Cubbage

GROUVILLE student Alice Cubbage (17) was crowned Miss Battle 2011 on Saturday night.

Miss Cubbage, the current Miss Grouville, who will be 18 when the parade comes round in August, is the 59th winner of the competition and faced some tough competition at Hotel de France.

Miss Cubbage, who lives with her parents Julian Cubbage and Lucy Baker-Cubbage in Grouville, said that it had been a nerve-wracking evening but she was delighted to win.

The five semi-finalists were Miss Cubbage, Francesca Pim, Gemma Neil, Rebecca da Silva and Stephanie Bourke. The other contestants were Amie Judge, Charlotte Rombaut , Eleanor Stannard, Francesca Vincent , Georgina Durell, Kayte Arthurs, Lydia Lamy, Stacey Thompson, Sophia Wall and Summer Boulter.
