AFTER seeing the picture in your newspaper of the development at Portelet (JEP, 19 April), I have only one thing to say. Freddie Cohen has got to go!
I have been voicing my concerns about this sort of development for years now and, thankfully, the people of the Island have realised that it’s got to stop.
This view of Portelet Bay has been used over the years, on postcards and literature and TV adverts, to promote tourism. Who on earth would feel inclined to holiday here now, if they saw that as an example of one of the beautiful bays of Jersey?
We must ensure he is not re-elected in the next elections, otherwise this sort of desecration will become commonplace in this once beautiful island.
