TO find a blue dog you would normally have to watch a cartoon but earlier this month walkers near St Aubin were introduced to Andy Pandy the blue poodle.

Forming part of his third year studies at the Slade School of Fine Art at University College London, 21-year-old Will Davis used blue food colouring and water to dye his dog in an effort to bring more conceptual art to the Island.

Attempting to draw attention to the artificiality of specially bred dogs, Will expected the public to react negatively to his experiment.

However, he reported that the majority of people enjoyed meeting his blue companion as they walked along St Aubin’s bay.

Aw that’s nothing, I’ve done my dog in the Union flag colours. I can’t take her out until tomorrow as it will spoil the surprise, she’s never gone 36 hours without a pee, will she be ok?

Last summer I dyed her to look like a tiger, worked a treat until a herd of wildebeast beat her up.

Update – if anyone is coming to the party tomorrow can they please bring some beer, the dogs drank the Watney’s Party Seven I had from 1976, I’m keeping her out the lounge in case she gets a dicky tum.

C Le Verdic – We haven’t heard much about PJG’s dog recently.

I understand it engaged in carnal relations with Mrs Bead’s dog Tricky Woo. The pups are lovely dogs that love to run but resolutely won’t go above 20mph.

I take your point and it’s a common first reaction but it’s completely harmless to the dog and they love the attention. It’s big in Japan aalthough I understand the recent reactor leak has lead to an increase in multicoloured dogs sans the need for paint.

I’m a cat lover & usually don’t give a dog a second look, however I think this dog looks rather swish & certainly does bring conceptual art to the Island. Very well done Will Davis we need more of this in Jersey.
