World stage for Shadine
Tuesday 24th May 2011, 3:00PM BST.
JERSEY athlete ShadineDuquemin made a simply brilliant debut for Great Britain’s juniors at the Loughborough International over the weekend.
Not only did the 16-year-old Beaulieu pupil excel with yet another huge personal best throw in the discus, her 46.25 metre throw places her first at U17 and U20 in the United Kingdom rankings.
Her throw was an incredible three metres further than her previous best, set just days before. And the effort earns her the chance of competing on a world stage as it is a qualifying distance for the Junior World Championships in Lille, France later this summer.
