AMID all the euphoria of Saturday’s victory over Loughborough in the National II play-offs, the professionalism of Jersey coach Ben Harvey still shone through like a beacon.AMID all the euphoria of Saturday’s victory over Loughborough in the National II play-offs, the professionalism of Jersey coach Ben Harvey still shone through like a beacon.

Soaked with icy water and champagne by his ecstatic players minutes after their emphatic 30-5 win at St Peter had sealed National I rugby for the Island, Harvey had every right to switch off and bask in the truly amazing achievement of back to back promotions up to the third tier of English rugby.

But despite the emotion of the occasion – and he was clearly touched by the reaction of the crowd – he was as focused as ever when asked about the next campaign … which kicks off in just 11 weeks.
