New tax rules could limit travelling to work in the UK

NEW residency rules could severely curtail the number of times many Islanders can travel to work in the UK if they are to avoid paying UK tax.
People who have moved to Jersey from the UK to work face being allowed to return for a total of only 20 working days if they are not to fall foul of proposed new tax rules.
The technical director at Jersey Finance, Heather Bestwick, said that the residency proposals were potentially bad news for many Islanders.
