We are in safe hands

From Tim Wiseman.
I FEEL compelled to make your readers aware of a recent good experience my family had (makes a change from all the bad ones we hear about, I suppose).

It did not start well, as I received the dreaded call from the school to advise that my son had fallen off the climbing frame in the playground and would need to visit hospital. No blame, so no claim. The usual panic then sets in, and your day is turned upside down as a result. Any parent who has had a similar experience will know what I am talking about.

We duly went to the hospital, and I have to say that the service we received from the moment we arrived to the moment we left was second to none. All the staff were very helpful and courteous. My son was treated very quickly, from the initial consultation, to the X-ray and subsequent operation needed on his broken wrist.

The stay overnight was made comfortable, and we were kept fully informed as to what was going on throughout the whole process.

I have to say that this was a great comfort to my family at this difficult time, and we are very grateful.

We are lucky to have such good people in this sector. I live or die by the motto of ‘Treat someone in the same way that you would like to be treated yourself’.

You will not go too far wrong in life if you can do this. In the case of our hospital, I am pleased to say that we are in safe hands.
