We treat Jersey Post fairly, insists JCRA

THE utility regulator has robustly rejected claims by Jersey Post that it has been treated unfairly.

The Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority has defended its approach to regulation in response to comments made by Jersey Post chairman Mike Liston in the company’s 2010 annual report.

Mr Liston said that Jersey Post’s future was being put at risk by a regulator ‘recklessly’ pursuing the ideology of competition.

JCRA executive director John Curran said that he had no doubt that 2010 was a very tough year for Jersey Post. ‘But to blame the regulator for forcing the company to face up to reality is misguided,’ he said.
